Our objectives for our activities fit within the three streams of activity we have identified as being necessary for a sustainable future.

  1. Community Redesign
  • Support and develop ecologically sustainable community initiatives that maintain a healthy environment.
  • Develop increased awareness of successful Eco-villages in the Northern Hemisphere.
  • Provide the educational resources and training needed for developing the Eco-village model.
  • Promote healthier local economies with reduced carbon dioxide output, through increased self-reliance.
  1. Earth Care
  • Maintain programs and interpretive trails that foster a better understanding and appreciation of the boreal ecosystem.
  • Promote Eco-tourism as a sustainable economic use of the boreal forest.
  • Create and support forest reclamation initiatives and wilderness conservation measures.
  • Increase awareness of local pollution problems, and provide "support," if called upon.
  1. Sustainable Technology
  • Research sustainable technology solutions around the world in both present developments and past indigenous cultures.
  • Research and demonstrate natural and healthy northern housing technologies. (Such as affordable straw bale housing)
  • Develop and support programs that improve indoor air quality in both home and work environments.
  • Promote healthy and ecologically viable local economies through Permaculture design methods.
  • Research and promote a reduced reliance on fossil fuels and increased use of renewable energy.
